You are welcome to join our 2 part Yoga Workshop: "Healthy back, open heart", & "Inversions...change your perspective" led by Mica Pomerantz.

Our body’s natural response to danger is to curl in, protecting our most vulnerable part: our heart, both the physical and energetic heart space. 

Backbends do the very opposite action opening us up to the world. They are invigorating and strengthening. They stretch the quadriceps and hip flexors and help open the shoulders and chest, an area where many of us hold tension. 

These practices help us relieve anxiety and stress.

When we practice backbends in a yoga class, we put ourselves out there and that takes courage, but it also makes you stronger! This workshop is open to students of all levels with postures including easy intermediate stages and preparatory postures. For those who have been practicing with Mica, know that there will be variations for all stages, wherever you are today, and far from frustration, you will emerge. this workshop with new tools, new perspective and a high sense of motivation and courage. You will be challenged to progress and reminded how vulnerable and strong you are when you open yourself to Grace.

In this Workshop: · We will learn the fundamentals and biomechanics of backbends, twists, and hip openings, to have a safe practice and know how to adjust/modify when we need to. · We will also explore and apply the concepts of Koshas, ​​Prana Vayus, Chakras, Nadis and Gunas, to enhance our practice on and off the mat.
